Gov Shettima Meets With Family of Slain Aid worker
MAIDUGURI, North-East, Nigeria – Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima on Tuesday evening led a delegation to condole with the family of slain aid worker, Hauwa Liman.
The visit was also on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, ahead of a presidential delegation coming afterwards.
Condoling the bereaved family, Shettima described the late humanitarian worker as someone who lost her life while serving humanity, and offered a special prayer for the peaceful repose of her soul and assured that the government will carry the family along.
Shettima who also described the death of Liman as devastating, condemned the terrorists and their activities as anti-Islamic, maintaining that they will soon be completely decimated.
Prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased and Allah to give the family fortitude to bear the loss.
The late Liman was an aid worker attached to the International Committee of Red Cross, (ICRC), who was abducted by Boko Haram during one of its deadly attacks on Rann, headquarters of Kala-Balge Local Government Area of the state.
The deceased aged 24 is survived by her father, Alhaji Mohammed Liman, mother and siblings, was killed by her captors following the expiration of the deadline issued by the terrorists to ICRC, and the Nigerian Government.
