Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel has stated that only God can stop his re-election into office in 2019 general election.
The governor stated this to indigenes of the state at a town hall meeting held in Abuja where 19 northern states were in attendance.
According to Daily Sun, Governor Emmanuel downplayed the need for war before, during and after the elections as power belongs to “God and He gives it to who He desires.”
Gov. Emmanuel said that “This is the first time in the history of our dear state that we are hearing how Warsaw will see war and war will see Warsaw. Satan shame unto you because all power belongs to God. God alone decides the leader He gives to the people He loves.”
The governor stressed that this is the first time a sitting governor is visiting indigenes of Akwa Ibom in the 19 northern states and holds such interactive session in Abuja.
He further added that he has prayed to God to use him as a developing instrument for the state as he expressed his pleasure at the signs of development inherent in the state under his administration.
