The Anambra State police Command has on Tuesday arrested Pastor Nweke Chijioke and one Samuel Emeka for the alleged kidnap of an 11 year old boy, Ikechukwu Ozoekwe in Awkuzu, Oyi local government area, Anambra state.

An indigene of Awkuzu accounted that Chijoke, a native of the community, and his accessory forced the boy at Umoubi into his vehicle’s boot and drove off but were later caught, Vanguard reports.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Haruna Mohammed, has confirmed the incident, stating that the said pastor was arrested alongside his accessory while they tried to flee with the boy.

The police PRO added that the little boy has returned to his mother in good condition.

He said, “On the 21/5/2019 at about 5:30pm, Police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested one Pastor Nweke Chijioke ‘m’ aged 33 years and Samuel Emeka ‘m’ aged 30 years all of Awkuzu in Oyi LGA of Anambra State.

“Suspects had on the 18/5/2019 at about 4:30pm allegedly abducted one Ikechukwu Ozoekwe ‘m’ aged 11 years at Akwuzu Umoubi and bundled him inside their vehicle boot.”

Haruna stated that the case was under investigation and the culprits will be charge to court after the conduct of proper investigations.
