It is a good thing to give thanks to God Almighty and count our blessings. Doing this provides us with the opportunity and grace to position our minds in the path of wisdom. As the scripture says in Psalm 90:12, “teach me to number my days that I may gain a heart of understanding.”
Christiana Oluwakemi Adunni Akinboye was born on August 25th, 1981 in Osogbo, Osun state and grew up in Ibadan Oyo state Nigeria. She attended Omolewa nursery and primary school for her elementary school education. She completed her high school education at Bishop Phillips Academy in Ibadan after attending a few other high schools due to her mother being transferred across town as a teacher. She proceeded thereafter to Esa Oke Polytechnic to begin her higher education in Banking and Finance. Her time at Esa Oke was cut short when her immigration papers got approved and she migrated to the United States in 2000. While in New York, Christiana continued the pursuit of education and applied to Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY and later transferred to Western University where she completed a degree in Health Administration in 2008.
In her quest and passion for the Nursing profession, she decided to enroll and pursue a program in Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program at Comprehensive Health Academy in DC. She was able to go through and successfully complete the program despite the challenges. After completing the LPN program, she enrolled at Standard College of Nursing in Virginia for an associate degree in nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2016. She again applied for admission into Grand Canyon University where she studied for a degree in BSN nursing program and graduated with honors in 2018. Never relenting, in 2019, she applied to the MS Nursing program at Walden University and graduated in November 2021 with a Master degree in Advanced Nursing specialized in Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
Christiana is married to the love of her life and they are blessed with three wonderful children – I am one of them. Christiana is a philanthropist. She is generous and she has personally funded many projects that advance the good causes and welfare. KEMREM Foundation helps less privileged people with mental illness and health challenges in Nigeria to get treatment and medications.
