It is heartbreaking the comments people make about what they consider the major differences between the Israelis and the Palestinians, which more often than not are premised on religious bias. It is clear from the sentiments expressed on religious grounds, especially by those who claim to be Christians that truly, people for whom Jesus Christ died are also dying for lack of knowledge.

It is important to state here and make categorically clear at this juncture that starting anything, especially a journey or an activity from anywhere to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior,  is to have started from the wrong direction and going through the wrong way can only lead one into the wrong destination.

The Israelites, despite their rich historical antecedent, can only find their relevance these days in the finished work of Jesus Christ, outside of which they are not different from any other people and fit in also for the description of what clarifies the difference between a living dog and a dead lion.

The problems that we have in the world today are a product of the wrong spiritual positioning of most of the superpower countries which are key players in the political hypocrisy that pitches one nation against the other, hiding under the umbrella of organizations such as the G-7, G-20, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

These organizations have over the years to a great extent undermined the effectiveness of the United Nations Organization, which was established to prevent wars and engender peace among the nations of the world, after the Second World War.

The war going on between Israel and Palestine which was sparked off by the massacre of one thousand, two hundred innocent Israelis on October 7th, by the militant Hamas group of Palestine, cannot be described lesser than a dastardly, barbaric, devilish, and inhumane act.

The action was condemned across the globe, with a demand placed on the Hamas group to release all the hostages taken from Israel on that fateful day. However, it won’t be out of place also to note that the reprisal attack by the Israeli armed forces which has lasted for over seven months now, and with more than 37 Palestinians killed and several thousand wounded, is a negation of the international rules of engagement in wars.

What further makes the reprisal attack condemnable, is the intransigent posture of the Israelis, who have defied all the pleas and calls for restraint from people of goodwill across the globe and international organizations, including the United Nations Organization. The Israeli’s action of retaliation has elicited reactions from Islamic countries and organizations, with the most recent, being the retaliatory action of Iran which shot hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles into Israel on Saturday, the 13th of April, 2024.

The pertinent question that one is tempted to ask is why Israel is behaving as a country that is above international laws and acting as if it is superior to all the other countries in the world. To the Christians who are ignorant and are blindly supporting Israel against Palestine for religious reasons, take cognizance of the fact that both the Israelites as we know them today and the Palestinians as they are, fit in for description as unbelievers.

There is nothing that makes Israel superior to Palestine with regard to religious consideration. As we know, believing in Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and keeping the law of Moses, do not make one a Christian and a believer in Jesus Christ, to this end, Christians owe both the Israelis and Palestinians, the responsibility of praying for both of them to be delivered and come into the light, which is Jesus Christ.

It is instructive also to know that warfare has changed these days, for being a superpower and going against a less powerful country, does not guarantee automatic victory. The cases of Russia against Ukraine and Israel against Palestine, are a reference point.

No one would have thought that Ukraine would withstand Russia for that long and if Israel were to be as powerful as people have always believed, why has it not been able to free, even just one of the hostages taken by the Hamas group, after the seventh month of war? Although, Israel has killed more than 37 thousand Palestinians, but the truth remains that Israel remains at the mercy of the Palestinians as regards the hostages taken by the Hamas group.

This scriptural passage is instructive and I hope it resonates with you: “When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armor wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.” — Luke 11:21, 23. This is a long-awaited revelation and going forward, let there be an immediate ceasefire and return to your tents, O Israel!

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” — 2 Corinthians 10:4-6.

For the sake of emphasis, those who are born-again Christians fit in for description as the spiritual Jews and the living dogs that are better than the dead lions.

Here is a clarion call to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, that the absence of Christ is the enthronement of crisis. It is time for peace, for Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace.
