Six key takeaways from Tinubu's speech | Premium Times Nigeria

 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Nigerians are in a very dire situation that commands pity, sympathy, and empathy from across the globe and this is as a result of the poverty and hunger that pervades the entire country and making the people susceptible to all forms of temptations which by extension are criminal in nature. A hungry man is an angry man, but that is not the end of it because hunger can lead to stealing and make people a cheap prey and instruments in the hands of terrorists and bandits.

It is very painful when one considers and realizes where the mistake that brought this calamity upon the people was made and when the truth of the matter is that the foundation of this terrible situation was laid on February 25, 2023 by the controversial INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu who single-handedly and in connivance with the former President Muhammadu  Buhari sold Nigeria to the over ambitious and be opportunistic, Bola Ahmed Tinubu after the country had been bankrupted.

It is important to note that many of those who pitched their tent with Bola Ahmed  Tinubu then,  lacked the requisite knowledge and foresight to understand the implications of their actions which by now is a cause of regret to them.  Then, the slogan was: “Emi lo kan”, meaning “it’s my turn”. Now reality has it that it is not a one man show but an unprecedented hunger, such that Nigerians never experienced in many decades before now.

Nigerians don’t have to be blind to see, Nigerians don’t have to be deaf to hear and Nigerians don’t have to be dumb before they speak truth to power. All things may be unequal and uncertain, but one thing that is as certain as death is that the resources of the country which in other words represent the commonwealth of the people are being stolen on a daily basis by those in positions of authority without any consideration about the present and the future of Nigerians.

Nigerians are people that are gullible in every sense of the word and who delight in erroneous complacency. To be adjudged as the happiest and the most resilient people should not be synonymous with being fools and people with reprobate minds.

There is a wise saying that if I’m deceived once, my deceiver is a fool. But if I’m deceived twice, I am a fool. Unfortunately, the case of Nigerians is worse than that of a fool having been deceived more than twice. If no quick recollection can be made about the past experiences, recall  how the former president, Muhammadu Buhari held  Nigerians in bondage  for 8 good years with president Bola Ahmed  Tinubu as the national leader of the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) which was the ruling party then and left  Nigeria bankrupted at the end of his tenure .

As if that was not enough, his lieutenants in those 8 years in the person of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Hijacked power from him to continue in the same trajectory and Nigerians are still waiting and hoping to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Suffice to say that waiting to see anything good is not different from wasting the precious time that should have been invested in waging wars against poverty, hunger and oppression of the devil and his agents. Rather than members of the Armed forces of the country Nigeria, being the defender of the constitution and the territorial integrity of the country, they are in reality the defenders of illegality, suppression and oppression of Nigerians as well as being complicit in the stealing of the resources of the country such as the crude oil by those who claim to be the leaders of Nigeria. This position taken by the security agencies in Nigeria accounts for why credible intelligence and co-operation cannot be received by the security agencies from Nigerians and the reason why the wars against insurgency and banditry cannot be won.

There is a conspiracy being perpetrated by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu against the northerners and this also could serve as bait to make the other regions in the country be caught by the net of deceit in order to allow for the drainage of the country’s resources unchecked by those who are in position to checkmate him.  This situation is nothing other than what can be describe as a roundabout deceit that will culminate in bankrupting the country a second time.

President Tinubu should take the bull by the horns or be ready to be bulldozed by the waves of the imminent revolution. State police as well as placing a ban on open grazing are indispensable and cannot be substituted, not even by the establishment of the Ministry of Life Stock Development.  It is insanity for people to expect any positive result from leaders that are the enemies of God and who are under His course, for except the lord build the house, the builders are building in vain and except the Lord watch over the country, the watchmen are awake in vain. The course of the Lord is in the house of the thieves who are the leaders of the country Nigeria and therefore no matter how much they try, the earth cannot yield her increase and hunger will continue for as long as they remain in power.

To this end, is waiting and expecting a better tomorrow worthwhile? The best thing to do now in Nigeria is for Nigerians  to revote. Under normal circumstances, the controversial INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu should have been thrown out of his office by now for the heinous crime he committed against Nigerians during the last 2023 Presidential election. The same also should have been the case regarding the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola for selling justice to the highest bidder, an action that fit in for description as a travesty of justice.

It is time for a revolution in Nigeria and the long awaited revolution in Nigeria is overdue.
