….let alone winning the November 2024 Presidential Election in the United States. My heart goes to the former President Donald Trump over the undeserved assassination attempt on his life as well as others who lost their lives or injured in the unfortunate incident. President Biden has shown leadership by placing a call to Donald Trump and wishing him well and called on Americans to take a step back and lower the temperature in politics. The unfortunate incident of the attempted assassination was an indictment on the Republican far right opponents of the gun law regulations being pursued by people of goodwill prominent among whom is President Joe Biden, for the sole aim of curbing the menace of gun violence in America that has claimed several innocent lives.  It is important also to note what statesmanship demands and the reality of the fact that Christianity is a way of life and practical, not deception and hypocracy as the case has been with the American Evangelical Class of the Republicans.

The forthcoming election in November will have no regard for emotions but will be issue-based convictions and rest assured that all the immigrants who have been constantly under attack by Donald Trump, who have seized every giving opportunities to deride them are solidly behind the democrats and President Joe Biden and his Vice, Kamala Harris, and no amount of sentiments or blackmail can change their position.

However, leadership takes into consideration the characters of the individuals as well as their disposition to matters of public interest and by extension humanity. Nothing has practically changed in the characters of Donald Trump who was voted out of office in 2020 except that his profile has a criminal conviction added to it. The unfortunate pronouncement of the Supreme Court in favor of Donald Trump in respect of immunity that covers his unpatriotic contributions to the insurrection against the Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, was a declaration of support for high handedness and impunity and this connects directly to the acts of violence that pervades the United States of America, one of which was demonstrated by the assassination attempt directed at Donald Trump himself. Don’t forget that the Bible says that: “whosoever breaks the wall, the serpent shall bite and whosoever digs a pit shall fall in it”.

In closing, it does not matter the number of the heads of cooperation’s that are throwing their weight behind Donald Trump based on sentiments, the truth is that each one of them has just a vote and the American society is made up of people who have their own minds and cannot be manipulated as robots. The undercurrent behind the excuse being given in relation to President Joe Biden’s age, mental acuity and his dismal performance in the 1^st debate with Donald Trump is nothing other than gender and racial discrimination against the people of color prominent among whom  is the amiable, competent and first female  Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris.  This consideration is divisive and retrogressive and cannot move America forward.

Recall, that the only decision made in the Bible that brought about the wisest and the richest King in Israel and on earth in the person of Solomon was made by King David from his sick bed at a very old age and this is an indictment on those who are blindfolded to see the positive impacts that President Joe Biden and his Vice President, Kamala Harris have made not only in America but on a global stage.  President Joe Biden has said categorically that he’s not denying being old but one thing he is sure of is that, he knows how to tell the truth, as well as get the job done. He also indicated that voting Donald Trump into office is an assault against Democracy.  This is food for thought. May Americans not go after the shadow and lose the substance. He who fails to change his mind in the port will end up sinking in the sea. A living dog is better than a dead lion. God bless the United States of America.
