The Northern region of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has condemned last week’s killings of Pastor Adamu Gyang Wrim of Church of Christ in Nation, along his wife and three children.
Northern CAN Chairman, Rev. Yakubu Pam stated this at the weekend in a statement issued to newsmen in Jos following the bloody incident at the church located at Abonong village of Foron district of Barkinladi Local government council, Plateau state.
Rev Pam in the statement said time has come for security agents to fish out the perpetrators of the bloodshed and bring to justice.
According to him: “The criminal elements in the Barkinladi unending vicious circle of violence be it the natives and the Fulani herders be fished out from their hide outs and paraded by security agents and taken to court for trial to serve as deterrent to others plotting to do same.”
The Reverend, who lamented the persistent violence despite the efforts of the church in the state, alleged that some people profiteering from the attacks are the ones killings the innocent in the state.
He said the havoc being wreaked upon the good people of the state is meant to disrupt the lasting peace the people have enjoyed for the past few years under the Governor Simon Lalong administration.
He commiserated with the leadership of the church over the death of the slain pastor, his wife and the 3 children along with others that were killed in the community.
The cleric urged residents of the community to be security conscious and report suspicious movement of strange persons in their villages and districts to security agencies for prompt arrest of these evil agents of darkness and bring to justice.
