A Lagos based pastor, Abayomi Adegboyega has demanded the dissolution of marriage with his wife of sixteen years as result of her demands for money before sex with him.
Adegboyega made his demand before a judge on Wednesday at Igando Customary Court, Lagos State, explaining that his demands was on the basis that his wife, Risikat denied him sex and extorted money from him, PM reports.
He said “My wife starves me of sex. She will never allow me to sleep with her unless I give her money or buy her a gift.
“Risikat should never come near me; I do not want to have anything to do with her again. She is irritating me. I will kill myself if the loveless marriage is not dissolved.”
He told the court that Risikat performs her wifely roles poorly and fights with church members which tarnish his image in public, “my wife wants my ministry to collapse. She defames my character before my members and others; people who want to help me refuse because of what they hear from her. Risikat fought his church members”.
On the other hand, Risikat, denied all the accusations, claiming she never denied Abayomi sex or of fighting her husband and church members as her husband threatened her life with charms.
She said “My husband told me that he would use charm to destroy my life; indeed, after few weeks, I was very sick. Everywhere my family took me to; they said it was a spiritual attack.”
The mother of four mentioned that her husband should marry another wife if it pleases him but should not leave her.
She pleaded with the court not to dissolve the union, in spite of the misunderstanding.
President of the court, Adeniyi Koledoye, adjourned the case to July 11 for judgment, urging the couple to be at peace with one another.
