As the 67th annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God came to a close on Sunday, the week-long programme witnessed the birth of 109 babies.
Giving an overview of the convention, the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye who disclosed this, gave the breakdown of the babies born at the RCCG maternity as 56 boys and 53 girls.
The programme tagged: “And God Said”, which opened on Monday with the ordination of Deacons and Deaconesses as well as the graduation of 5,443 students from the Redeemed Christian Bible College (RCBC), ended on Sunday with the ordination of 1,850 pastors.
Appreciating church members for their contributions to the success of this year’s convention, Pastor Adeboye assured that next year’s convention, which he gave the theme as “Wonderful”, will be much more glorious.
In his sermon, the Assistant General Overseer of the church in charge of Administration and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola challenged the newly ordained pastors never to despair as they go about the task of evangelising to the world for Christ.
He reminded them that preaching the gospel remained a task that must be carried out by all Christians as they await the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ as rewards await every faithful minister in heaven.
“We have heard of patriarchs of old who fought the good fight of faith and have long gone to heaven where they received their rewards,” Odesola said.
